Our first Paddle Like A Girl x Up North Adventures trip sold out in under 30 minutes—and now, we're thrilled to announce a second departure for the ultimate bucket list adventure!
This is more than just a paddling trip; it’s a chance to connect with like-minded women, immerse yourself in breathtaking landscapes, and check off a true once-in-a-lifetime experience.
The Teslin River offers a scenic and historical paddle, flowing from the pristine waters of Teslin Lake to the Yukon River at the historic Hootalinqua NWMP station and Telegraph post. Along the way, soak in incredible views, encounter wildlife in their natural habitat, and create unforgettable memories on this relaxing and rewarding journey.
What are the payment terms and schedule?
What paddling skill level is required?
Do I need backcountry camping experience?
Can I bring my own camping gear?
What will a typical day be like?
A minimum deposit of $999 plus GST is required to reserve your spot, and all payments are non-refundable. The remaining balance is due by March 20, 2025. Payment plans can be arranged. Because of the nature of the trip and the preparation involved, all payments are final and non-refundable.
The Teslin River is scenic and relatively calm, making it a great choice for those looking to get introduced to paddling or build confidence on the water. Our experienced guides will be there to support you every step of the way, and you’ll receive plenty of guidance on paddling and camping skills throughout the journey.
We do recommend having at least one backcountry trip under your belt so you know what to expect. It’s important to be aware that this is a wilderness setting, which means using outdoor washroom facilities, sleeping in tents, and embracing a more rustic lifestyle. We’ll go over all of this in our pre-trip meetings, so you’ll know exactly what to expect. Being comfortable with these aspects is essential to fully enjoy the adventure.
Up North Adventures are supplying us with most of the gear, and we want to utilize and allow the guides to easily prep and prepare. We recommend to use everything that is included. Please review the list that is Not Included. We would recommend personal gear (clothes, toiletries, power bank, sleeping bag/pad, and life jacket).
A total canoe trip is 350km over 8 days, making it approx 40km per day of paddling. We're assuming a typical start of the day would be to get on the water at 8 am and paddle for 5-7 hours with breaks and lunch in between before setting up camp in the late afternoon.
